We are proud to be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Newport Harbor Educational Foundation. Thanks to the 1995 vision of five fathers at Newport Harbor High School, they created a California Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation that promotes academic excellence and enhances educational opportunities for all students at Newport Harbor High School and Ensign Intermediate School. Known as the Navigators, a father’s group dedicated to improving the quality of education, we were able to honor four of the five founding fathers at the foundation’s March 13, 2015 annual benefit.
Newport Harbor High Principal Sean Boulton acknowledged their achievements at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club, stating that their decision to establish the Newport Harbor Educational Foundation has made an incredible difference at Newport Harbor High. Since its inception, $14,000,000 has been raised to benefit Newport Harbor High School and Ensign Intermediate School students, providing programs best described as C.L.A.S.S.:
Computers and classroom technology – State-of-the-art World Language Lab, electronic chalk boards called Smart Boards, document cameras, interactive learning response systems and LCD projectors enhance teaching and student learning.
